Unless you know what you truly want.

I am going through a stage in my life where I have to make some of the most important decisions. Just when I feel over-burdened with this responsibility, weighing each possible option and their consequences I began to realize how fortunate we are who have the chance to get to choose. Only sometimes you get a choice. Because there are times choices are made for you and there are those times too when you have no choice at all.

If you are one of those lucky few who have this chance to choose you will often see yourself standing at the face of a fork end of the road. And suddenly the great lines by Robert Frost run through your mind..
"Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both"

The question still lies there. Which one should I take. One road takes us on the path of fight and other takes us on the path of a flow. First one will challenge you each day offering a battle in order to reach the final end and the second one is the peaceful drift that will let you pause and enjoy the fields for a while. You choose the calmer one and you passively-quietly drift through your life while taking in the beautiful moments you experience. You choose the fight then you stumble and rise up brushing off the dirt at each milestone you cross.
Often when we are standing there making a choice we have a vision too short termed or too long termed and then we make the choice.
You choose the drift and enjoy the ride
You choose the fight and you learn the lessons
You choose the drift you have fun
You choose the fight you become wise
You choose the drift you congratulate yourself on the choice or maybe even regret it
You choose the fight you congratulate yourself on the choice or maybe even regret it
Yes I wrote that right.
When I chose the fight, I felt I was breaking down every day and battled each day to get through.
So now do I feel proud about the choice? Do I repent?
Am I tired in this battle ? Yes.
Do I wish I had chosen the drift? No
Why?
Because I like the lessons even if they are learnt the harder way.. But had I not chosen the path I would have never learnt.
And when I chose the drift, did I enjoy the destination? Did I love the ride?


So when I stand on the fork end of the road again I think of all the reasons why I enjoyed the drift when I chose it and think of all the reasons why I cherish the lessons from the battle.
Hence, the next time you choose which one?
Are you hoping there is always a right answer? Always a right path? Does life really come in black and white? NO!

Sometimes there are no right-most paths. Sometimes the journey is the reward. Sometimes the final calling is worth all the pains.

Picking up one would mean losing the other and no matter how much you run and try to catch everything that the world offers, you will always miss out on something or the other. So unless you know what you truly want and unless you know what it really holds...
which one do you choose?
